FMD Sponsors EO Detroit Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) 2020
EO Detroit hosted a student entrepreneur competition called the EO Detroit GSEA virtually on Nov. 17, 2020, and FMD was the presenting sponsor. FMD Partner Dan Patterson was one of the event judges as well as FMD contributed the cash prize for the winning student entrepreneur's business pitch.
Student entrepreneurs competed against their peers by presenting their businesses to a panel of entrepreneurs and business professionals. All participants received feedback from the judges during the competition. The winning entrepreneur goes on to the national GSEA competition, hosted at the Startup Grind conference in February 2021.
FMD to Attend 2020 Role Model Dinner Hosted by Alternatives for Girls
The FMD staff will be attending the 2020 Role Model Dinner hosted by Alternatives for Girls. The Role Model Dinner honors women in Detroit making an impact on the community.
This years honorees include the following women leaders: Denise Ilitch, President of Ilitch Enterprises; Palencia Mobley, Deputy Director and Chief Engineer of Detroit Water and Sewage Department; and Laura Chavez Wazeerud-Din, Branch Manager of Flagstar Bank.
The dinner takes place Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. The event is located at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in the Ambassador Ballroom.

Dan Patterson to be Featured Presenter to the Chrysler Minority Dealers Association
February 12-14, 2020 - Dan Patterson will be a Featured Presenter to the Chrysler Minority Dealers Association (CMDA) in Las Vegas, NV at the Organizations 2020 Annual Membership Meeting that takes place in conjunction with the Annual National Auto Dealer Association Convention (NADA).
Mr. Patterson will be speaking to the Auto Dealer Attendees on the topic of Estate and Business Succession Planning in the Dealer Franchise Environment.

Tax Planning for Today and Beyond Under the TCJA with the BBChamber
On Thursday, March 7, Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber will present a Professional Edge Workshop on Tax Cuts and Jobs Act at The Community House, located at 380 S Bates St. in Birmingham. The workshop is scheduled from 8-9:30 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Acts was approved by Congress in late 2017.
