Our Team


Leonard J. Gayeski, CPA | Partner
Mr. Gayeski specializes in the agricultural, manufacturing, sand and gravel mining, and trucking industries, as well as standard and activity-based costing and business valuations. He achieved Partner designation in 1980. Mr. Gayeski’s responsibilities include client tax, financial planning and trusts, as well as overseeing the financial and personnel management of Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC. He brings a diverse mix of business experience to his position.
Prior to his association with the company in 1975, Mr. Gayeski earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and gained expertise in the operations side of several businesses before the beginning of his career with a major accounting firm.
Mr. Gayeski is currently an active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA). He is accredited in business valuations by the AICPA and is also a member of the Forensic and Valuations Services Division (FVS) of the AICPA.

Michael D. Gottshall, CPA | Partner
Since joining the firm as a staff accountant in 1982, Mr. Gottshall has developed quality standards and standardized work papers and procedures for Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC accounting services. He provides accounting, tax and business planning services for numerous clients including many in the manufacturing, construction and automotive dealership industries. He achieved Partner designation in 1992.
Mr. Gottshall received a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and began his career with two other well-established accounting firms prior to his association with Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC.
Mr. Gottshall is currently a member of Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Brian J. Hunter, CPA | Partner
Mr. Hunter has over twenty-five years in the accounting profession and serves as a business advisor to a wide range of closely held for-profit business. Prior to joining Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, he was an audit manager at a national accounting firm specializing in financial reporting and merger and acquisition related activities. He has experience developing and implementing strategic plans for private businesses. Brian has experience in business expansion and is a Board Member of Integra International a worldwide association of independent accounting and consulting firms.
Brian is a graduate of Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance; he is also a graduate of Walsh College with a Masters Degree in Accounting.
Brian is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester and is a Board Member and Treasurer of Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester, Michigan.

James W. McIntyre, CPA | Partner
Mr. McIntyre has over 35 years experience in public accounting and provides a broad spectrum of expertise for a wide variety of clients. He is a recognized expert in corporate tax and accounting services, personal tax and financial planning, consultation on employee benefit plans, information technology, and Michigan Business Tax and other multi-state tax issues.
With a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, Mr. McIntyre joined Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, in 1977, and has been a Partner since 1992.
Mr. McIntyre is very active in civic and professional associations; chambers of commerce; Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants; and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tax Section Division, Management Consulting Service Division and Information Technology Division.

John W. Melstrom, CPA | Partner
Throughout his career, Mr. Melstrom has specialized in business development, particularly with entrepreneurs in the manufacturing and automotive supply industries. In addition to his success in his profession, Mr. Melstrom is an accomplished businessman and industrialist. This hands on experience makes him an invaluable resource to his clients. He understands each client’s business from the inside which places his consul in high demand. His passion, creativity and knowledge have gained him the respect of his clients, associates and professional colleagues.
Mr. Melstrom began his association with the firm as Partner in 1968. Today, he is a well recognized expert in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, succession planning, and business, tax and investment consulting.
Mr. Melstrom earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Michigan State University. He has served, often in the leadership role of chairman or vice chairman, on multiple boards, both public, private and civic.

Mark F. Schroeder, CPA | Partner
Mr. Schroeder has over twenty years in the accounting profession and serves as a business advisor to a wide range of clients. His services include corporate tax and accounting services, individual tax returns, personal tax and financial planning. He has experience developing and implementing projections for closely held businesses.
Mr. Schroeder is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.
Mr. Schroeder is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves as vice president of the Clarkston Optimist Club.

Roger G. Zulauf, CPA | Partner
Mr. Zulauf has over 30 years experience in the accounting profession and serves as a business advisor to a wide range of clients. His areas of expertise include taxation, accounting, and auditing for construction, service organizations, television, real estate, sand and gravel mining, environmental (landfill) and other privately owned business organizations. He also provides litigation support for the construction industry.
Mr. Zulauf is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, B.B.A, 1973, with a major in accounting. He received his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1978.
Mr. Zulauf is a member of Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Burt Beauchamp, CPA
Mr. Beauchamp has over twenty years in the accounting profession serving a wide range of manufacturing, retail and service companies. He provides accounting, tax and business planning services as well as financial investigation services. Prior to joining Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, Mr. Beauchamp was a partner with a large local firm and a tax manager at a national accounting firm specializing in privately held businesses and strategic planning for high net worth individuals. Mr. Beauchamp also has over fifteen years of real estate taxation experience.
Mr. Beauchamp is a graduate of Walsh College with a Bachelor of Accountancy and a graduate of Walsh College with a Masters of Science in Taxation degree. He has also served as a college adjunct instructor for accounting and taxation courses.
Mr. Beauchamp is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is also involved with Rotary and the Community Foundation. He has served as a board member for several local charities.

Kenneth R. Biebel, CPA
Mr. Biebel specializes in estate and trust accounting and taxation. He has over twenty five years of public accounting and taxation experience working for local public accounting firms and the family offices of high net worth families. In addition, Mr. Biebel spent nearly two years in Montana as controller for a Marketing and Communications firm where he gained first-hand experience with the needs of a small closely held business. He has significant experience in development and monitoring of estate plans for closely held business owners and related family members.
Mr. Biebel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.
Mr. Biebel is currently a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Vincent Gotko, CPA
Mr. Gotko has accumulated a broad range of practical experience associated with privately held businesses mostly in the service and manufacturing industry. His areas of specialization include business start-ups, strategic planning, systems analysis and tax planning for individuals and their companies.
Mr. Gotko earned a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. He has worked in the local public accounting firm environment since 1985 and began his association with Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC as a manager in 1997.
Mr. Gotko is currently an active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Construction Association of Michigan, Automation Alley and the Oakland County Roundtable.

David G. Heimbuch, CPA
Mr. Heimbuch has over 12 years in the accounting profession and serves as a business advisor to a wide range of clients. His services include corporate accounting and tax services, individual tax returns, and personal tax planning including minimizing tax exposure. His expertise in accounting and tax law has allowed him to build solid relationships with clients.
Mr. Heimbuch is a graduate of The University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting/Finance.
Mr. Heimbuch is also an active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Sandra McCloud, CPA
Ms. McCloud has 14 years of experience in the accounting profession, serving as a business advisor to a wide range of clients. Her areas of expertise include taxation, retail, restaurant, real estate and other closely held companies. Her services include corporate tax services, individual tax returns, and personal tax planning including minimizing tax exposure. Prior to joining Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, Ms. McCloud was a Senior Tax Manager at a local accounting firm and a Tax Manager at a national accounting firm.
Ms. McCloud is a graduate of Walsh College with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree obtained in 1992. She received her Certified Public Accountant designation in 1996.
Ms. McCloud is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

David C. Rupprecht, CPA
Throughout his career, Mr. Rupprecht has delivered value-added auditing and tax services to his clients; primarily to service and manufacturing industries. His expertise in accounting and tax law and attention to detail has allowed him to foster solid relationships with his clients. By gaining an intricate knowledge of his client’s business models and accounting cycles, he is able to provide hands on consulting that facilitates business development, maximizes personal wealth while minimizing tax exposure.
Mr. Rupprecht began his association with Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC in 1997. He began his career at a large local firm after earning a Bachelor in Science in Finance from Michigan State University and a Master in Science in Professional Accounting from Walsh College.
Mr. Rupprecht is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Elaine Shenkosky, CPA
Mrs. Shenkosky has a broad range of practical experience with privately held businesses, working primarily with businesses in the service industry. Her area of specialization includes general accounting, with specific applications of QuickBooks. Mrs. Shenkosky is also involved in the preparation of payroll, individual, corporate and partnership tax returns.
Prior to joining Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, Mrs. Shenkosky earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Wayne State University and her Masters of Science in Taxation degree from Walsh College.
Mrs. Shenkosky is currently a member of Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also Treasurer of Friends of the Rochester Library.

Rachelle VanEckoute
Rachelle VanEckoute earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Western Michigan University and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Walsh College.
Ms. VanEckoute is currently involved in corporate accounting, benefit plan audits, bookkeeping, and the preparation of corporate, individual, personal property, and payroll tax returns.
Rachelle joined Fenner Melstrom & Dooling in 2008 as part of the administrative team, and quickly transitioned into her current role as an Accountant. She is currently pursuing her CPA certification.

Kim Denise Byers
Kim is a 1982 graduate of the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She holds several computer certifications including CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, and is a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Ms. Byers assists with the network administration at Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC along with various other duties including accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing.
Ms. Byers is an active member with the Association Administrative Assistants and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Chapter.

Trudi Koskinen
Mrs. Koskinen has been a part of Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling since 2004 and has led the administrative team since 2008. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work with clients and colleagues alike. Mrs. Koskinen attended Northern Michigan University and has been working in the administrative field for over twelve years.

Rita Reid
Ms. Rita Reid is the voice of Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling. As Front Desk Coordinator she provides a friendly and professional service to our clients.
Ms. Reid has an Associates Degree in Merchandising and 5 years of experience in customer care and administrative support.

Marvin Rubio | Technology
Marvin Rubio has 12 years of experience providing Microsoft desktop and server support. His experience was acquired from managing small company networks and also from being an essential part of the technical team in large corporations. Mr. Rubio’s work experience has exposed him to various levels of customer, desktop and server support.
Mr. Rubio has an AAS in Electronic Engineering and is a Microsoft Certified Professional. He has also obtained various Microsoft and Comp TIA certifications (A+, MCDST, MCTS and MCITP). Mr. Rubio is currently working on furthering his education and certifications.

Alexa Meffer-Tocco
Ms. Alexa Meffer-Tocco is part of the administrative team at Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC. Recently returning to the firm after eight years.
Ms. Meffer-Tocco brings an Associates Degree in Business Management and over twelve years in administrative support.

Krista Quinn
Mrs. Krista Quinn is part of our administrative team at Fenner, Melstrom and Dooling, PLC. She brings over ten years of experience in administrative support and customer service.
Krista attended Central Michigan University where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and pursued a major in Public Health Education.

Matt Dixon, CPA
Matt Dixon brings financial, lending, and auditing experience to his role as an Accountant.
Prior to joining Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, Mr. Dixon worked at a national accounting firm providing auditing services for both publicly and privately held companies as well as commercial lending experience.
Matt is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Walsh College, as well as a Master of Science degree in Finance from Walsh College.

David Strait, CPA
Mr. Strait has obtained over 9 years of experience in the field of public accounting. His experience includes a wide range of cliental in service and manufacturing, such as restaurants, resort hotels, real estate partnerships and automobile suppliers. He provides accounting, auditing, corporate and individual tax services as well as having experience with business valuations. He is competent to research complicated tax issues.
Mr. Strait has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Walsh College.

Paul Arnone Jr.
Mr. Arnone earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Michigan University in 2007, and completed the Uniform CPA Exam as of June 2011.
Prior to joining Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC, Mr. Arnone provided a wide-variety of accounting and tax services to the automotive, technology, airline, and financial planning industries. He specializes in general ledger management, federal and state tax filing & remittance, internal financial reporting, and small business growth and development.
